Re: Meeting at Jerry's place
I won't push the subject, but I can have more t-shirts made up. I have only a few from the Charlotte meet left. The Pacific NW meet hasn't asked for any and I haven't heard if they're making up anything of the sort. Mark had some window stickers made up, and talked of making a different design, since those are about to run out.
I forget what the minimum order amount is for shirts, but if anybody would like to suggest a different color scheme let me know. The screens are already made up. Options are different color shirt and different color ink.
I'll be wearing my IsuzuPup.com shirt to Atlanta. You can bet on that!

Where do you get the shirts printed? I run a design company with all In house printing. Let me know if guys need a break from where you normally get them made!

A young man from my church designed the shirts using pictures and quotes from this site. The cockroaches, he drew himself. You're welcome to make up some of your own version. Before printing them up, I ran the design by Jack (JoeIsuzu, site admin/owner) to see if he approved first. The truck pictured on my shirts was actually taken from pictures off the site of Jack's truck.

Re: Meeting at Jerry's place
Hey guys, how's it going? Looks like this PUP meet is pretty much a guaranteed to go event. I have heard about it through the PMs sent by Andy and Andy I'm sorry I didn't reply to them as I've not been online that much lately. It seems when you come home from work and eat dinner it's just about time to go to bed to wake up and do it all over again. I am still needing to head down to South Carolina to pick up the Isuzu cab I bought from john747diesel and I was thinking I have to do that very soon, as I had originally planned to do it back in mid summer. That didn't happen and here we are at the start of fall already. I'm thinking if I drive down to pick up the cab I might as well go the extra distance to Georgia for the PUP meet. I definitely know I want to go to it since I missed the first one back in March. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to come down with Isuzu diesel power as the old Chevy LUV needs the cab replaced (and off the road for the past 3 years) and my 86 Trooper diesel needs the transmission worked on (probably rebuilt). I know last I talked to Jerry I was wanting to see about rebuilding it and it's a little over my head as far as doing it by myself. I'd like to have it out and bring it down to Georgia with me for the meet, but everybody would be so busy that I couldn't probably have Jerry do it without spending quite a bit of time on the side (and I'd certainly be a major help during the work too). I haven't worked on the Trooper in probably at least 3-4 months since it has had the transmission problem. If I could get the tranny rebuilt, pick up the PUP cab from John, and go to the PUP meet at Jerry's place that would be great! I do think I will come to this one and all I have to do is put in an extra day off for the Monday after the weekend so I have a little buffer time to get back home to south central Pennsylvania. I might have the longest trip out of anyone if I do end up coming. Either way I know I have to come pick up the cab I bought as I've put it off too long as it is and wouldn't want to let that stretch into winter. I'd be coming down in my current daily driver a 1993 Dodge Ram W350 diesel. It has a 8 ft. wide x 9 ft. long flatbed on it that is perfect for setting a PUP cab on and I know it will haul it like it isn't even on the back. I have just got overdrive finally working in it after not having it for about 8-9 months, put a 4" exhaust on, 60mm turbocharger compressor housing and wheel, and turned the full load fuel screw in about 2 turns. Let me say it will get up and go and has plenty of power, plus it will put down 19-20 mpg if you are conservative on driving it. With my drive down to Georgia I could probably see the fuel mileage that high as it would be mostly highway driving. I really do think I can make the meet, looking forward to meeting Jerry and everyone else, and it should be exciting!

Wow! What a surprise, Salvy. Look, you make it any way you can. Bring the tranny with you when you come. We could use it as a show-n-tell rebuild. Of course, it's up to Jerry. Have you talked to John lately? I need to call him and twist his arm about coming too. PM me with your phone # if you'd like, and we'll try to meet up on the way down if possible. You sure have a long haul from PA. Maybe your work will let you have Friday & Monday off. Will you pick up the cab on the way down, or back up?
Andy
I'd love to see and hear that Dodge!

Re: Meeting at Jerry's place
Hey Andy, I certainly will bring that transmission with me if I come and we can work on it. I'll have my work cut out for me because I'll have to pull it out of the Trooper in the next two weeks and also have to buy the rebuild kit for it too. I had looked into a rebuild kit for it from drivetrain.com and even emailed Jerry to ask him what kit would be the one I would need for the 4WD 5-speed unit. Seems to be a decent company to buy from, the prices are very reasonable, but being that I've never bought a kit from them I can't vouche for them in any way. I think I'm definitely going to ask for the Monday after off and I really should get the Friday before. That way I could leave on Thursday after work to get an early start to a long road trip, am I right? I have not talked to John lately, which is probably more of my fault then anything else because I haven't updated him on when I plan to pick up the cab from him. Of course I know it's going through his mind when I'm coming for the darn thing and John if you are following this thread I want to let you know if I come down for the meet I'll be guaranteed to pick it up (whether on the way down or back, doesn't matter which way we do it). I really do hope to come down to the event, the Dodge isn't the best thing to take down as it doesn't ride nice being a 4x4, solid front axle vehicle, with a heavy diesel engine under the hood, but I don't have anything else on the road to pick up the cab nor do I own a small to medium car trailer. I'll keep you guys updated on whether I'm a guaranteed attendee or not.

Re: Meeting at Jerry's place
If all goes well, I expect to be at Jerry's between 11am-12noon on the 11th. If any of you that are planning to be there, but don't have Jerry's address yet, PM me and I'll get it to you. Of course, if you want to show up earlier, Jerry won't turn you away.

Re: Meeting at Jerry's place
Dang im so upset im not going to be able to make now to the meet. I was on the way to school yesterday and a guy ran a red light and ripped the front of my truck off so now the hood is held down with a strap and the tires are both pointing toward each other. I hope there is another meet not a too incredibly long time from now. Next time I will come and my two friends just bought isuzu pups also and they will have insurance then and will be able to go with me next time.

Re: Meeting at Jerry's place
The truck is getting inspected tomorrow morning then i will see how much i am getting for the damage. Im afraid they will look up the value of the truck in the average world and it wont be worth anything. Whereas in the Diesel world its priceless.
Re: Meeting at Jerry's place
Did you t-bone him or just sideswiped him?

Re: Meeting at Jerry's place
I side swiped his truck then his trailer came after that with the wheel sticking out and hit directly on my front left tire bending my tie rods into rainbow shap rods. Also when that happened his tire caught my front bumper and ripped my sideways. Over all though the pup is tuff i was going about 7 mph and he crossed in front of me about 45 mph. It could have easily been alot worse. But is still sucks because of how much work i have put into it. Luckily though my turbo didnt get hurt or my a/c. After the hit it also stayed running so when the officer left i put a strap on the hood and drove it home."If there's ever a nuclear holocaust, the only thing left will be cockroaches and Isuzu pickups."
This statement has alot of truth.
