I have a 1984 pup Diesel LS longbed. I bought this truck several years ago but really didn't have any real plans for it. Didn't know if it would turn out to be a parts truck or a project ride. This truck has 129,097 miles. The reason that this truck came up for sale is that the previous owner had something go wrong in the 5 spd transmission. I think it lost 5th gear if I remember right. The guy got a 5 spd trans from a gas pup to try to put in. Well, it didn't fit obviously so he began the process of disassembling both transmissions to switch all the guts from the gas trans into the diesel housing. He got it all apart and obviously got in over his head or lost interest. This is how I acquired this truck. I still have all the parts that came with both transmissions so someone with good knowledge could prob put it all back together. Otherwise this would be a good candidate for the newer 5spd swap.
This truck has a good body. The frame in front of the rear wheels also looks good on each side. The only damage to the body is the pass side door, grill, and front fender was hit somewhere along the line. It still has all the glass in it and all of the inner bed panels and all but the pass side cab LS molding.
This truck is located in Lancaster, SC (29720). This is only less than an hour from the meet location in Concord, NC. Due to limited space I am not going to bring this pup to the meet, but I would be glad to help someone take home a souvenir after the meet.
This truck does not have a driveshaft in it so the best idea I believe for moving it is a tow dolly like uhaul rents if you can't get a full trailer to move it.Finally, here are a few pics. If you have any questions please let me know. I would like $1300 obo for it. I am going to open this up to people who are coming to the meet first. After that if there are no takers I'll post it on the regular for sale section.
