For a flexible repair that has to hold up, I have found after some experimenting with several "glues", that Shoo Goo is a very strong bonding agent.
I put a fully separated Diesel Turbo intake hose back together with it, and I am amazed, beyond any expectations, how very strong, and flexible, the repair ended up being. It's heat rating was also higher than the other 'glues" as an added bonus. The only downside is it requires a relatively long cure time of 24 plus hours, depending on temp. and humidity. It won't be a "glue and go" type of repair. It will be a lasting repair when it is complete however.
Hope this is helpful.

That's fascinating. It didn't do so well with my basketball shoes.

I have used shoe goo a lot and find that it works very well for hose repair and other jobs that don't flex a lot but not so well on shoe soles (perversely), probably due to the continuous flexing.
