After hearing someone boast of 2.2's going 500 to 800,000 miles I got to wondering, how many miles have they gone. I haven't seen a thread to this specific issue and I thought it might be interesting. Anyone participating specify miles on engine, and just for grins, truck total.

I have 225,000 and going strong.

Good job on the question.

We have two trucks:

-- An '82 n/a with 215k miles and going strong

-- An '84 turbo'd n/a with 201k miles and going strong

-- And our son has an '85 n/a with 315k miles and going strong

My 82 has 304,000. I once owned an 84 automatic that had 315,000.

When I bought my truck, Isuzu sent me newsletters for a few years. In one of them was an article about an Isuzu pickup that had been used for some kind of medical delivery in Florida and a guy that worked for the company bought it when they retired it after it passed one million miles. I'm almost certain it had a gasoline engine.
My Isuzu has less than 100,000 but my 97 Aerostar has over 214,000.

My current 83 Long bed has 169K, our old LS that is watching us from above (Heaven ain't heaven unless it has Isuzus) had almost 300K on it. The engine was still good and strong just everything else was shot (No more first gear and whining in 5th, paired with rust holes everywhere and frame rot and possibly a sticky CSD). The Babe Magnet has 260K on it and still is really strong. No smoke or anything, just bad u-joints.

228K on mine, although I've rebuilt or replaced just about everything that moves on it for the exception of the rear axle. Soon I'll be swapping in a gen 3 engine I found with only around 90K miles on it too.
Almost ready to start taking some pics!

My wife drives a VW TDI with close to 300K on the clock and its still going strong although it has a few electrical demons.

Also, I seem to remember reading a thread a couple years or so ago where a member ran into someone who had a pup that supposedly had over 700K on it without a rebuild.

86 turbo 59000 miles runs perfect ,a joy to drive uses no oil leaks nothing . It's easy to love this truck.

My problem is I seem to have a virus causing my odometers and usually the speedometer ( a totally useless guage) to quit functioning. My diesel scout probably had 400,000 on two engines. My Mack probably has 500,000 to 1 M, again no odo and the hour meter quit at around 500,000. I doubt I'll life long enough to go after any records with the P'up i'm building, but i like the stories.

Very common (like basically 100%) issue. My Garmin plays odometer double-duty.
