I need a hood and a long bed. Any one got one and how much?

I can't tell you how hard it is to find a decent long bed. I've been looking, for three or four years. There was a truck offered here for $500 and I tried to buy it just to get the bed--but someone else got it before I could. Looks like another member is bringing me a bed when he comes for the meet. I'll probably have to give him my truck in exchange for it! Keep looking, and if you don't mind buying a truck and parting it out, that may be what it takes.

As for a hood, you should be able to find one. They don't usually rust as bad as beds do.

I know this will make you sick., Jack, but Larry Tesh had an encounter with the zoning commission a while back. He took a very nice long bed LS truck bed to the scrap yard. They had him up against the wall with deadlines, etc. This was about 6=10 months ago. I hate he never called me 1st..

Not just sick. Nauseous.

However, the one Mark is bringing will do very nicely. It will need some fairly minor body work. Minor, provided you DO body work, or you know somebody who does. And I know somebody who does.

grill clips, maybe a few windshield washer motors, timing belt idler bearings, shifter boots,...just a few more suggestions

Gas Cap Gaskets, injector seals & copper washers, radiator caps come to mind.

maybe some of those insulators that go between the injector lines. I am mainly bringing parts & tools along with me just in case I break down! I hope I won't need them though..

if anyone has an owners manual or shop/service manual on 85 s10 with 2.2 diesel I would be vary interested. any other info on s10 diesel. bring to the meet . thanks Phil c.

Jerry should have the oil line for the turbodiesel, and the grill clips. I don't think the 3.73 gear set is available any more, except used. I found this out since I just recently had to locate one. I got mine from Dart and Deb Eskew (debsq on this site). Send them a PM and maybe they can help you.

Looks as though I will be hauling your bed back on a long bed chassis that came from a 2wd 5speed that should have a 3.73 ratio in it. I will talk to Salvy and see what his plans are for hauling the frame.
