Re: Rear differential
Has anyone ever made a limited slip/locker for these?

Re: Rear differential
Limited slip was a factory option. Aftermarket lockers are available for Isuzu differentials

Re: Rear differential
So far, we have no context. Nobody has mentioned which vehicles we're referring to. So let me add some context.isuzu Specialities wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:39 am Limited slip was a factory option. Aftermarket lockers are available for Isuzu differentials
If we're strictly talking about P'ups (that is, 1981-1987), no. LSD was not an option. I don't know if lockers were ever available for these, but maybe so.
If we're talking about Pickups (1988-1995), it may have been. It was definitely an option in some Troopers. My '94 Amigo had a Trooper rear axle that included LSD.

Re: Rear differential
Thanks for the info Jack. I did a quick search (should have done earlier) and I found this (see attached)
Not sure if it actually fits but Powertrax does show an application for a 1984 Isuzu "pickup".

Re: Rear differential
That's interesting. I have not seen that mentioned on the Planet Isuzoo forum. Parts catalogs are notorious for misinformation about applications, when it come to vehicles that predated the PC era. I'd be curious to know if it actually fits the 1984 model. These are the Isuzu Pickup applications they list for this part:
1981 – 1995 Isuzu Pickup

Re: Rear differential
Yes, Joe is right clarification is needed here. thanks for pointing that out
To my knowledge all 1981 to 95 pick-ups use (or are compatible with) GM 7.5" /10 bolt differential.
Eaton, Detroit, TRW, Lokka, ARB all makes lockers for this differential. Some modification to the carrier assembly is required if using a Detroit or Eaton PowerLock differential.
Delta Motors in Suth Africa, IML in India, Proton in Maylasia & Bedford truck absorbed Isuzu worldwide production of limited slip differentials for the pick up. These vehicles were all sold in parts of the world with poor road conditions or the lack of a roads in general. This is why north America vehicles did not have this option & the rest of the world did.
Speaking for Isuzu Troopers model year 1987 and up uses an ASEAM related axle which had much higher worldwide production numbers. Making an LSD option available in North America.

Re: Rear differential
This is definitely outside my wheelhouse. I'm sure Lowzone (Ron) would be able to confirm.isuzu Specialities wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 12:47 pm To my knowledge all 1981 to 95 pick-ups use (or are compatible with) GM 7.5" /10 bolt differential.
