Body swap LUV

Post by Mporte1983 »

I am almost complete with my LUV body onto Toyota chassis swap. Let me know what y'all think it's been 2 years in the making. just have a few loose ends to tie up and its ready for some muddy trails! Built Toyota axles with 5.29 gears, full spool rear, lockrite up front, chromoly shafts, custom lift giving it 16 inches of clearance over the stock LUV. If my frame wasn't so rusted out, I would have just done the axle swap. I moved the cab back 5 inches and custom fabbed cab mounts and patched the rusty floor pans and cab mounting structure. Sectioned the front of the bed 7 inches to make up for the cab movement and shorter wheelbase again with custom fabbed mounts. All done at my house except for borrowing a buddies shop lift to get cab off and on. Found out that a 3rd row seat from a 2004 Suburban is the perfect fit for me after making mounting brackets and removing factory seat mount (which were toasted with rust anyway) and they have working built in seat belts. Trying to find someone to repair the cracked dash is hard, no one does that type of vinyl work anymore.
