Front driveshaft length

I'm mostly done converting an 84 4wd from a 4-speed to a 5-speed. We had the rear driveshaft shortened and the front lengthened, but quite a few splines remain exposed on the front, and I suspect it was incorrectly done but don't have records of the old driveshaft to be sure either way. Could anyone with a 4wd 4-speed tell me how long the main big tube is, from one weld seam to the other?

Hi, did you manage to get this information. I'm in need to convert a 5speed front driveshaft to a 4 speed one and I need the dimension of the 4 speed one.
