Stolen 86 Trooper

Post by Pupfocused »

Last night in daylight someone stole my 86 Trooper from in front of my shop while I was inside. I purchased the Trooper from a friend of a friend in 2009. It looks the same as the pictures except that it now has Warn hubs. The Trooper was in SW Portland Oregon when taken.

Nice truck, hate to hear this. Hope you find it soon. I've no use for a thief.

Sorry to hear this. And, if I remember, you also lost a pickup to a thief. Very sad.

Was probably just occasion-theft / flee car and you will find it parked somewhere. Good luck, hope you find it soon!

The police called at 5AM to inform me that they had found the trooper. I was able to met them so that I did not have to pay for a tow and storage. The trooper had a flat tire. The inside is full drug stuff and garbage. There is minimal damage. I feel extremely fortunate. I need to install a kill switch so that it does not disappear again.

Jim, a clutch serves as an automatic anti-theft kill switch around here. ;)

Really glad it was recovered and with minimal damage.

An AirTag might also be a good idea.

GLAD YOU FOUND IT WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE, . DEFINATELY INSTALL SOME SORT OF KILL SW, OR JUST HOPE THAT THE NEXT TIME A SMALL PIECE OF LEAD INSERTED AT THE RIGHT SPOT WILL STOP THE THIEF PERMANTELY .

We had a member year ago who also had his Pup stolen. He ended up finding it and getting it back himself from the perps

Thanks for the idea of getting an Apple AirTag to place in the Trooper. I had no idea that they that they existed. I purchased 4 for $99. and placed one in the Trooper. You need a 6s or new Iphone to track an AirTag. The replaceable battery lasts a year. It is amazing technology. From my phone I can tell if the Trooper has moved and find it's current location. Everyone should get one for their vehicle to locate it in case it gets stolen.

I’m glad you got the Trooper back, very frustrating to go through(again). I’ve been parking at a park n ride a lot lately, everyday I reach down and disconnect one of the wires from the switch on the clutch pedal.
