I totally understand! I'd love to visit Oregon & the West coast some day. We'll have to twist Jack's arm enough to have him commit to having a National Pup Meet somewhere near his place!

Sorry to hear it T. Enjoyed talking to you in Burlington. The 'Memphis BarBQ & Blues' meet sounds good. Jack, is Shelby Park (I think), near Millington, still there? My hangout when stationed at the NAS. Andy, I need to take you to Douthat State park.

We have a Shelby Forest (near Millington) which is probably the one you're referring to. I have never been there, but from the descriptions, it might make a good meet site.

We also have a Shelby Farms on the eastern side of Memphis. They claim it's "the largest urban park" in America. It's nice, but it would not do for a meet.

It was Shelby Forest I was thinking about. Don't know anything about it recently, I spent 1973 at NAS Memphis. Such fond memories, 12 hour shifts in the chow hall, serving meals at the Naval Hospital while still a patient recovering from surgery, a tornado, the levy broke, flooded the base, wrecked my first car...

I wonder why a quiet, wooded park sticks in my memory?
