So, to begin with my wife thanks you Ed and Pam Wright for the peach cobbler that I didn't get any of upon returning to home. She's sorry she missed out but her toes do look incredible. My son has not stopped talking about "his friend Michael" yet. I would like to second Andy's words about the hospitality. Thank you very much for having us at your home.
Larry, I want your truck. Or pretty much any long bed diesel for a decent price will suffice. If you decide on making it out to a meet in the bay let me know. I would like to hitch a ride and we can strap Gabriel to the roof. Don't worry he'll be fine. Just give him some goggles and he'll think it's the best thing ever.
Ed, you'll have to tell me more about the pilot pranks from your Navy days. I'll make sure Molly has another friend her size to play with next time and tell you all about having to wade back to shore when the ship has issues. As you're well aware we can't steam out too far from shore.
Andy, I do believe you were the life of the party. You and your lovely lady were great to hang out with. I certainly wouldn't mind doing it again and listening to you all talk more about your deliveries and runs to different parts of the country.
Thanks for a great time everyone. I'll keep an eye on the pup meet threads for another get together.
Chris

No I haven't, I'm just not one to do things unless I can have some test that yes it's bad or a real reason to do it. I'm just not one to throw money at something hoping that that's the reason.. It doesn't leak, doesn't surge, the only real indication is that the MPG is bad and sucks on power. Larry can leave me in the dust from a stop light. I want to recheck the belt to see if I'm off one tooth, it was right when I pulled the old one off and the performance is still the same before and after replaceing it. I wish someone knew of some test for the IP that would show that the csd is working. Maybe I should do another post and ask that question.

It just sucks, 55 seconds to reach 0-60 MPH on flat land, it'll do 70 if it's flat for a couple of miles in 4th or 5th gear and get's 26 MPG at best. And you have to be carefull if on the interstate or I'll get run over and about 50 up hills in 4th gear. Other that that, it's in great shape, there's not much that I haven't done to it in repairs, I still drive it around town to shop all the time.

If/when we have our Columbia meet, we'll take a look at it starting from scratch leaving nothing to assumption.
Oh...change the muffler! It's like 25 yrs old. Time for a new one anyway! We talked about that possibly being your problem a couple of years ago!

Thanks again, Ed and Pam!

Chris, don't worry about Andy. What he doesn't realize is Jack's Memphis meet is on the Mississippi River near a former Naval Air Station. We'll take the Coast Guard cutter and fly the trucks in by helo!

Larry, I am constantly haunted by the fact I passed up the deal on the 81 4x4. If we'd had more time, I could have had you haul the engine/trans to my place on your way back home. Oh well, Mrs. Putt would probably shoot me! LOL

I'm really glad to have met everyone, and of course welcome Larry back, he's not a guest anymore, he can open the fridge and peer in for snacks anytime now that he's made himself at home.

I wish more of you could have come but I understand, maybe we'll get more of us together during the next one.

Oh and Chris, I didnt get the chance to tell you any of my Navy pilot pranks, when I was at Oceana, if you weren't out of your rack by 0500, you got thrown out by sonic boom.. we had a lieutenant that just loved to buzz the barracks EVERY single morning. Glad Michael got to meet Gabriel.

Andy, thanks for coming and it was good to meet Marsha, and Ed we gotta get you into a diesel soon huh?

But the prizewinning pup had to have been Larry's ride. I got the privilege of driving it and I swore it ran better and drove better than most newer model trucks. Nice Job Larry, maybe I can get you to come up and help me transplant that 4 x 4 into that tan pup of mine and get one for me :) I really miss the truck now that I have a trooper.

But thanks again to all, I enjoyed the fellowship and Pam was happy to host and feed all the hungry fellas.

Larry,

I know you live "Back East" now, but Thanks for representing us "West Coast" guys so well! Sounds like you all had a good time!
