91 Pickup from hawaii

Post by 91pupfrom808 »

Aloha this is my introduction to the group, i got a 1991 pickup 2.3l 4 cyl. had it for about a year and never really did much. it needs some work and im just tryna acquire some advice about the truck, such as what i should do first upgrade wise and also how i can get this truck to run at its best. Right now i have a little overheating problem, im not really sure what it is because i think my temp gauge doesnt work as it should. (some lights in dash do not turn on) Just asking for some help lol. Anything is appreciated Mahalo!

This truck was offered with a 2.3L carbureted or EFI
Depending on what your truck has will determine exactly what may or may not be needed for a tune up.
#1 is verify the engine is not overheating. If it is stop driving it until it is fixed.

Shaka! I acquired my p'up from the Lemon Lot, over at Hickam, in 1990 (I'm the 2nd owner). It should be discussed elsewhere, but I'll mention that it was common to remove the thermostat on vehicles while there. Used NAPA for parts, and spent a lot of time at Campbell Industrial Park raceway. /R

Welcome to the site. We've had several members from HI, but I'm not certain how many of them owned the same trucks! :)

Let's not morph this intro topic into a technical one, please.
