Hi!
Grateful for this forum and the opportunity to learn and share. 20 years ago I bought an 81 pup (diesel) for $500 from a guy I approached at a gas station. It was my first pick up truck and it served me well for many years. A few years back the fuel line got clogged with a straight vegetable oil fuel system and the truck has sat since then. Recently my son (7) let me know it was time to get the truck running again and that he would like it to be his first truck. My hope is to remove the SVO system, clear out the fuel lines, get the truck started (in a way that doesn’t do damage after sitting for so long) and eventually pass it along to him. Looking forward to learning from you all. Thanks.

Welcome,
Your plan isn't far-fetched. normally it doesn't take much to bring these back to life.

Re: 1981 Pup from Oregon
Thanks for the encouragement! We live in the southern Willamette Valley. My son and I were wondering where we should start and if there were any books we could read to help prime us. Any suggestions are appreciated!
(Looking forward to continue reading through the forum as well of course.)

Welcome to the forum.
I am right down the interstate from you in Medford. You have come to the right place for all things diesel Pup related. Post up your questions here and we always like to see pictures of your truck. I have lots of parts down here if you are finding you need some parts. Send me a message and I will get it here.
