It's done

Post by bargynpup »

I'm sorry I should've done this a long time ago. Finally finished my 1983 shortbed. It was originally sold in California and then I got it from a guy in South East Minnesota for $500 in 2017. Started on the total restoration about 3 years ago. I actually bought 2 other scrap pups for spare parts. It was a 4X4 but I wanted a 5 speed so I removed all of the 4X4 hardware except the front axle and spindles. I also put in a 3.42 rear axle. So far it runs great and has more power than the last one that I had in the early 2000's. The people on here and articles have been very useful. Thank you so much!

Good job! Does the egine have enough umpf to move it along in 5th gear with the 3.42 rear end?

So far I'm pretty happy with the power and acceleration. Where I live in Indiana there aren't many hills either. Yes, I should've put 99.8% done! That's funny!

Very nice. Clean shop and ride, I'm jealous.
