Isuzupup.com got a shout out on this article that placed the luv/pup at 6th most reliable overall (behind 2 Toyotas and a Datsun). I didn’t see any other site shoutouts.

Re: 6th on this most reliable truck list
Thanks for sharing this. 6th place is disappointing, especially when compared to vehicles that don't have the track record to even compare (the Honda Ridgeline, for example).

Re: 6th on this most reliable truck list
The Honda Ridgeline is one of the longest lasting pickups out there. Just by the numbers, of all vehicles sold in US 1% hit 200,000 miles. Ridgeline hits that mark at 3.7%, almost 4x the average vehicle. It has a great track record.
The T100 and Hilux at 2 and 1 are suspect. Don't know how many times Tundras need to hit 500k to a million miles to not be in the top 10 list here. List is fake

Re: 6th on this most reliable truck list
I'm not knocking the Ridgeline, but we can't compare the 20+ year old Ridgeline to the 40+ year old P'up unless we're looking at their reliability in the first 20 years.
Most P'ups today have issues, but I wonder how the P'up's record at 10 years would compare to the Ridgeline's at 10 years.

I don't disagree about the longevity perspective. Isuzu made some fine long lasting trucks. Hard to compare apples to oranges. For what we can compare, I see more 1st gen Honda Ridgelines on the road than mid 2000s Isuzus. Not sure the reason and maybe that's just where I live.

Re: 6th on this most reliable truck list
If I remember the engine in my 99 Vehicross took a quart of oil every fill up. A lot of those engines may have kaboomed from the oil consumption issue it had.
Definitely an odd article though lumping all generations of Ford and Chevy trucks together, etc.

Re: 6th on this most reliable truck list
Agreed, and not sure how the Silverado is even on this list. The 99-06 were excellent (apart from weak auto trans). The 07-13 were not terrible. Since then, GM truck reliability has face-planted. I don't know 1 Silverado owner of newer generations that isn't worried about their engine or transmission blowing up at some point.
The c/k 1500s are proving to outlast the Silverados. Maybe because of ease of rebuilding those simpler engines & transmissions.
