Hello World!

This is for "Introductions". Tell us about YOUR P'up, and a little about yourself (if you like). This is also the place for updates, tall tales, etc. about YOUR P'up. No technical questions here, please.

Hello World!

Post by scottinkn »

If you understand subject of this topic reference we will get along just fine! lol The Master & Mod/God of this site asked for an intro now so now yez gettin one... deep bref after morning high test coffee)s(

I grew up in Queens NYC, I live in central MA, (Monson) near CT border, A Navy Vet (engineman) & Master Jack of all trades, turn wrenches (combination & pipe), pumps/plumbing, work a multimeter and mouse for the commercial irrigation company I work for and I am lucky that I can do something different almost every day... turned a construction wrench for over 15 yrs, got sick of it, did college (IT 15 yrs), got sick of THAT and went back to getting my hands dirte' (lol joe dirt) and found I was WAY happier!.. an less aholes to deal with*...
*(It is NOT fair... that u can harmlessly throw a wrench when angry or frustrated but ya CAN'T satisfyingly wring a neck, because someone can't print because of their own ignorance because somehow its YOUR fault) jinx to the mirror because used because 3x in a sentence

I have been a displaced pup fan for far too long.. drove one in the 80's for work in construction, cement mixer/plant/rock crushing mechanic ( 2x mpg+ company vehicle) and LUVed it! (lol the vehicle) that pup was the little engine that could... always!... which brings me to now.. about to fly over to the west coast desert to buy a new to me, puppy... The planets have aligned/eclipsed recently and I'm getting a 220k mi 84 diesel 4x 4spd std lb.. That I will drive home from Redmond, OR across the USA taking rts 84 - 80 - 90E... I am nervous and can use all the help I can get, which is why I am here and I will finally have a pup again!

I will say for the record, sniff that I'm teary eyed, speechless and GRATEFUL for the people reaching out to offer assistance to me, a total stranger, (but not now) in my (family naysayers* think I'm crazy but maybe am a little in a good way) trek back home with my new to me *(hunk o junk) prize

Of course stoopit me, I need help planning on contingencies, because I am poor (AND creatively FRUGAL) and cannot afford to ship or even tow it back, I HAVE to drive it too because I can't take the time off of work to drive there AND back.. so its cheapest to fly out (170 for ticket woo hoo)
and spin that roulette wheel I guess... go figgure... I'm not usually lucky which is why I dont play cards... I always get crap ones!
And this awesome group will be my aces up my sleeve, along with the tools I will ship before I go!

Anything else about me?
I love cooking and a Breakfast Cookbook author (in the jungle), Larynx cancer survivor, (so far 7yrs but past my expiration date) and play guitar (learned later in life) badly and sing even worse now that only 30% of my vocals chords work so every day is a struggle to eat but hey? what is the alternative, right? Life is TOO short and so is my intro... so in conclusion, my condolences to all of you for putting up with me... and I gotta go! coffe kicking in and finally get to do sum yardwerk after this cold & crappy wet Spring we are having!
