Door seal upgrade

I recently bought a strip of door seal which presses on to the sheet metal seam of the cab. I highly recommend doing this. A twenty foot roll is just enough to do both doors. You'll have to close the doors a little firmer until the rubber is kinda broken in a little. A little Sil-glide might help that process

Very little wind noise.

I plan on replacing the seals on the door as well. This is one of the best ways to combat road and wind noise. My dad even commented how quiet the ride down the freeway in my 82 was with it.

The actual gasket part did not fit under the trim on the floor so well. I'm going to try and find a more flexible material for that little stretch.

Thanks for the tip. I've been using stick on rubber seal. This is way better. Gonna get me some.

It has been about two and a half years since I have put these seals on the doors. They still positively displace the door so there is a good seal there. I just took the truck on a 400ish mile round trip last weekend doing about 70 MPH and I was able to listen to the radio just fine with very little wind noise. You can still see the bulb in the seal is there. I can push in quite a ways with my finger. I do wipe then down with some silicone spray (from walmart) every once in a blue moon. Seems to help the door close a little easier.

i went this route after reading your post, the one you recommended is great and fits great but I didnt like how hard i had to slam my doors to get it to shut, so i went with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HR1NWX9?ps ... ct_details instead and it seemed to fit a little better on my space cab doors in terms of closing force

Thanks for your upgrade tip, I'm trying this.

Did you remove the original door seals for this, or just added this ones to the frame and kept the original seals in the door?
