How much is too much to haul for a P'UP?

Apparently they can take a beating. Thankfully no damage done, I probably should have asked the guy to give me a half bucket of mulch.

What's the most you've gotten away with?

My dad got away with about that volume of heavy top soil once in his long bed... Freaked the loader operator out, thought he broke the rear axle. Poor little truck just hauled it though. He also hauled back two pianos and a music stores entire selection for organ section back 25 years ago. I think it all clocked in at about 2000 lbs... For a 900 mile drive....

I towed an 1800lb vintage Aristocrat Lo-Liner trailer (15') from purchase location in the middle of nowhere I5 California, back to the coast (6+ hour drive, including a couple steep grades). It did overheat a couple times, as it was also mid-summer!! I pulled over, let her rest, and kept at it. (Yes, I had no other towing or time options)
