Re: 4ZE1
It's 90% bolt in process. The remaining 10% depends on your current fuel, exhaust and cooling system set up & what fuel, throttle and distributor the 4Ze1 engine has. No concerns about the extra power going to the MSG-5 transmission? Jack Honestly that transmission is probably strong enough esp...

Re: Hard cold start - possibly down on power - help!
How good is your compression? It seems like you've got your timing dialed in, and the CSD defaults to advancing the timing, unless somehow it's stuck off which would be unusual... Have you checked your valve lash? That can have a huge impact. Especially if you don't compensate for the wear on the ro...

Re: Isuzu KB 26
I've always packed the bearings full and put a decent amount in the hub cavity, little bit on the cap and called it good. Never have been precise about it. Snug that outter nut, spin it backwards and forwards loosen it, tighten it till it touched and lock the nut.... Never had a failure yet...

Re: 15amp Regulator fuse keeps blowing
I am trying to track down the reason this fuse keeps blowing. I don't know the the location of the regulator or how it works, but I do know that when its fuse is blown, the IP does not work. If I remember correctly, I had this same issue many years ago. I hit a bump in a parking lot and the truck j...

Re: Fuel shut off solenoid
This wouldn't fit on the IP of a 2.2. This looks more like something you'd see on an inline pump with a pull and hold function, hence the two different wires... 1 VS 2 VS 3 wire solenoids..... One wire solenoids are grounded via the housing. 2 wire solenoids are grounded via the seconded wire. 3 wi...

Welcome aboardPoquosonboy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 6:33 pm Cool thank you, been slowly doing some maintenance to it like the timing belt hoses, belts, filters, and fluids.
Don't forget the oil supply line to the vacuum pump on the alternator. If that breaks your entire crank case is evacuated of oil rather quickly.

I'd be really curious to see how much efficiency is increased with this.

Re: Rebuild time
Hey! I know this is an old post, but any thoughts about how to break in that diesel engine? I heard that you should do it under heavy load, like dragging something, within the first start. I'm also rebuilding an old engine and this part gets me scratching my head. Just replaced the bearings, liners...

Re: Gear befuddlement
Opened it up last night, everything looks good inside. Fluid is clear and golden, no metal no dirt. Am still going to change it though. Isn't it 10-30? And I don't remember how much Awesome I want to say I switched one of my trucks over to a GL-4 rated MTF or MTL. I think I run Redline 75w80 GL-4 (...

Re: Gear befuddlement
I have since located a msg-5k out of an 81 pup. I'd pop that transmission case open and make sure everything is good in there before you install it. If everything checks out, even with open bearings you should be find, make sure you stay on top of oil changes for that transmission, and don't rest y...

Re: Gear befuddlement
I was given a handful of good engineering articles from a pretty sharp individual about manual transmission bearings and read them quite thoroughly. If you find a 17 spline 5 speed and rebuild it with sealed bearings, you'll be more than fine and it will save you the stress of trying to find the sli...

Very nice, welcome aboard. I have a good friend who works in Lynden and one of the ag equipment shops. I could swear I've seen this truck toodling around when I have been up in that area.

Re: Isuzu luv
Hi everyone and thank you for the invite. My name is Rodney. I'm from Tacoma Washington, born and raised. My ride is a longbed luv diesel with an isuzu powerplant. I've had it since the late 90s. It's a runner and a daily driver with 472,000 miles. In that time the only things I've replaced is 2 al...
