Re: Headlights work, tail lights dont
Ground faults can drive you crazy. I'm an old electronics tech, have chased many, and I tend to agree with puttputtinpup. Check for good ground between Headlight mount and body, then taillight mounts and bed, then make sure bed is grounded to chassis. Not just eyeball, check electrically. Jumper fro...

Re: 94 Pickup burning coolant smell no visible leaks....
Sorry Jack. Maybe I'm just having bad luck. I've blown a head gasket on a 1.9l, a 2.3l, and a 2.6l. Then again, my first car was a Gremlin. Maybe it's still following me...

Re: 94 Pickup burning coolant smell no visible leaks....
These engines will sometimes blow a head gasket. Coolant can leak outside the engine and be visible or leak into the cylinder and be burned. Are you having to add coolant? Watch for an extremely large (worse than typical) white cloud out the tail pipe when starting on a cold morning. I blew one and ...

Unofficial Pupmeet?
My apologies, Jack, I couldn't figure out how to get this in a proper place. While goofing off instead of working I thought I'd throw this out. Covington, Va. Saturday August 8, 2020 m If you want to see a small mountain city go car crazy this is the place to be. Main street downtown traffic is shut...

This is a shot in the dark. Supposedly 81 t0 96. Somebody that knows 4x4 check this and see if it's the right info for this truck.

Re: 14" to 15" wheel swap 86 Pup?
I'm running 15 inch wheels from a Trooper on my 90 gas pickup that normally ran 14's. Love it, Stands a little taller, better looking wheel. Yours is a Pup, mine's a Pickup, and I don't know the Luv at all. You'll have to translate. Some thoughts: Clearance: I can run up to a 225, but it rubs in a h...

Re: Last Sighting
"Semi" retired now. I thought I was supposed to have more time to play? Need to get the red 90 back on the road. However, with Isuzu Nut's help, actually found some floor space in the shop!

Re: Low beam headlights not working. 2.6l gas 1988
Sorry. If you're absolutely new to this, I forgot to add a little encouragement along with the tech. You can beat this. When I was quoted $175 for the switch for my 92, I 'Fixed' it with a $5 toggle switch mounted on the floor shift. Loved being able to switch turn signals with my right hand while s...

Re: Low beam headlights not working. 2.6l gas 1988
Yeah, from your first post it sounded like you may have multiple problems. Please don't be offended if I ask questions or talk below your level of knowledge, I just don't know you or what you know. I think the 88 through 95 pickups were very similar. Somebody jump in here if I'm off base. ( I have a...

Re: Low beam headlights not working. 2.6l gas 1988
Puttputt is right. I threw this post up quick because it will take me a little time to find a couple things. I used to have a diagram of the switch. I've cleaned a couple switches, not hard, but delicate. Where are you located?

Last Sighting
Many moons ago I rescued this Isuzu diesel and 5 speed while it was literally being loaded to go to the shredder. It's been a paperweight in my shop since then. This is now the first leg of the trip from Virginia to Georgia to its new home with Isuzu Nut.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway
Let me know when you're passing through. My "range" along the Parkway can be as far south as the 165 mile marker, (Floyd) to as far north as the 50 mm (Buena Vista), depending on just where I am, what I'm doing, etc. I can be reached at 540 529-7129. Ed.
