Re: Wheel bearings
I understand, but I am quite a fan of doing what the manufacturer says, I also read that this type of roller bearings do not need too much grease. There is nothing unique about this type of bearing. I have no idea where you read that or why believed to be true. These bearings are ordinary "off...

Re: Wheel bearings
Never is there a need to think about the weight of grease you will use or not uses when packing wheel bearings. You will not be placing hand fulls of grease onto a scale to precisely weigh the amounts of grease to be used. This operation is by no means that technical. Simply pack the bearings & ...

Re: Oil pressure idiot light - 81 I-Mark diesel
There are a couple ways to verify engine oil pressure. The first wat is to install a cheap mechanical oil pressure gauge. If the idle pressure is within specification hot/cold & low/high RPM the root cause isn't internal to the engine. By process of elimination, it must be in the electrical circ...

Re: Isuzu Corporate 10 Bolt
The Isuzu Corporate 10 bolt axle was originally the rear axle offered in 1st Generation Trooper up to 1987. Before the trooper this axle was used on Isuzu delivery trucks. When the trooper rear switched to a 14 bolt the 10 bolt diff was moved to the front and made reverse rotation or coast driven. T...

Re: 1990 Isuzu Pickup
v8.jpg The Mua 5-speed transmission and the rear axle plus the front axle if 4x4 are plenty strong to handle the power of a v8. I wouldn't recommend a turbo the negative effects of one negates the advantages. a Whipple or Paxton style supercharger is the way to go. If you are aiming for over 350-is...

Re: The making of a 200HP 2.6L 4ZE1
I made a mistake programming the ECM.
Fuel cut/engine braking mode transition worked but the reaction time was way too slow.
The results of this little mistake....
KaBoom
Whoops ..
Honestly I thought I blew the exhaust manifold off.
Scared the hell out of me.

Re: Front Drive Shaft Length - 4 speed 1982 4wd
You have gotten it backwards.. The driven side must be inserted 70% of its total length into the drive half of the joint. The contact surface area of the hollow side of the joint must met the minimum of 70% of the driven side. This = 30% of the splines are visible on the driven side. Driven side tot...

Re: New member but own an amigo
Saw the post about the making of a 200 hp 2.6. From isuzu specialties. I currently have a 1991 isuzu amigo 2.6 and I have had multiple problems with it. It has been sitting for about 4 years because it will not run right and will not smog (I am in ca.)due to not being able to get parts that are obs...

Re: Front Drive Shaft Length - 4 speed 1982 4wd
The driven side of the spline joint is not as strong as the driven side of the joint. This is because the drive 1/2 of the joint is a hallow cylinder shape. This side is always being forced outwards by the other 1/2 of the driven cylinder shaft that is solid. There is nothing to stop the hollow cyli...

Re: Front Drive Shaft Length - 4 speed 1982 4wd
This book was first published 100+ years ago and is updated every so many years sense. Free downloads of this book are available from multiple websites too, all machine shops should have this book on hand or at least have access to it. Remember when a driveshaft fails it destroys everything its atta...

Re: Front Drive Shaft Length - 4 speed 1982 4wd
This information is located in the Machineist Operating Handbook which your driveshaft shop should have. If they don't have this book I would question their compatance as it's impossible to memorize 3300 pages of detailed information. Referring to the book the splines of a non floating splined slip ...

Re: 81 Pup 4x4 front end rebuild
The manual locking hub cover plate screws are less than hand tight. looking at near 24in-Lbs for these. Once you get the cover plate off you will find a snap ring that holds the axle shaft into the hub, remove it. From this point forward replacing the CV axle is as simple as separating the inner CV ...

Re: Clutch Plate Orientation
the thicker side or wider side of the clutch plate faces the pressure plater or faces towards the transmission. If turned the other way around there isn't enough space for it to fit. The center hub of the clutch plate will bottom out on the crankshaft never allowing your clutch disk to rest onto the...

Re: Fuel shut off solenoid
This wouldn't fit on the IP of a 2.2. This looks more like something you'd see on an inline pump with a pull and hold function, hence the two different wires... 1 VS 2 VS 3 wire solenoids..... One wire solenoids are grounded via the housing. 2 wire solenoids are grounded via the seconded wire. 3 wi...
