Yes, there are lot of troopers. For sale and on the road. But pups are rare too. I think on my island where every second car is a hilux there are 5 total pups. I believe most are diesels, at least all for sale are. Petrol cars usually have hard times here because of the sand dust

No, i knew i would not be able to break it up and in the meantime appeared some higher priority fixes i need to do first anyway. For example tires.
