Re: 1985 PUP 4x4 1.9Liter overheat issue solved.

Still runs great. I have decided to add the Weber carb tomorrow. I rebuilt the original CA DCF model, and it works good but the secondary plate is not opening at all. I may have overtightened throttle shaft nut.I just don't have the time to keep fiddling with stuff. For some reason, not getting vacc...

Re: 4x4 CV shafts

I know what a knuckle is. That includes a ball and retainer carriage assembly. However, I am unfamiliar with the term (ARM)unless you are referirng to the (shaft). Maybe I should have been more specific to my needs. I want to know if these components.... Knuckle, ball, retainer, carriage are same pa...

1985 PUP 4x4 1.9Liter overheat issue solved.

This is a follow-up: The overheat issue was due to the head gasket not being compressed enough to seal the combustion gases. After the 2nd attempt of replacing head gasket, rebuilding engine block and determining that block and head not cracked, I determined that Ishould have some serious thought ab...

Re: Combustion

Replaced O2 sensor. Idles very nice. Still overheat issue. Needle midway in 20 minutes on a 87 degree day at idle in garage.
Going to readjust timing chain. If this does not change running condition, pulling the head and replacing with spare I have just had checked out.

This is about 3.5 hours of run-time on a rebuilt 1.9L gas engine
The spare short block is the original to thr 86" truck.
Right now the truck has an 87" short block in it with the original 85 head.

kind of oily in and clean looking ion pisston crowns,

Re: Another timing question..Ouch!

Its the same head from the same original motor that I had rebuilt and replaced head gasket on twice, and twice its overheated. I'm going to replace the head for the third time with the used head from the spare motor. Just to clear the blockage idea and internal crack idea and eliminate that thought....

Re: timing chainG200 gas engine

Is there something special about those links of chain because because I don't see what purpose it has other than a visual reference of the two colored links landing on thetiming whee marks and you seeing that they do.

timing chainG200 gas engine

Why is it so important to get thepart of the timing chain that has the most links between the two colored links on the timing wheel marks? What difference does it make as long as the marks on pulley and camshaft line up. and, what difference would it make by having the longest aside of links betweem...

chain adjuster was not locked.

I just noticed the timing chain has jumped about 8 links off but the pulley, cam sprocket marks still are on the mark! It looks like the rotor is slightly past the #4 post on distributor about a 1/4 inch rotation. G200 gas 1985
