You'll likely break a connecting rod using a turbo. The turbo diesel troopers were bad about breaking rods, so Isuzu redesigned replacements to be tougher.

All I know about the veggie fuel thing is that the young lady who bought my perfectly running 82 pup ran veggie in it. It seemed to have negatively affected the injection pump. I don't know what became of my little pup after that.

A good hydraulic can cut the banjo fittings off the old lines and replace the rubber line. They'll have to be sure to get the orientation of the fittings correct before crimping them to the new rubber line. Somebody years ago suggested using (and successfully used) a heater core for an old 70's Ford Pinto. Then again, finding one of THOSE nowadays might prove to be a bit challenging

I'm not an expert at all, but have you done a compression test? Paul would probably know what to chk next I have not, I will definitely do that before taking the head off. I was thinking the rear cross member was removable on the newer trucks. The older pups were not but at least on 87 maybe 86 the transmission cross member could come out. I could be wrong. It's been years
