Re: Increased drive-ability and MPG

I’m located in Greensboro, so our pups I’m sure travel very similar terrain lol. There's an 84 4x4 diesel on market place currently for $3k. Low mileage. I don't have a pup right now. That's not as sweet a deal as I'd like. If you're interested, I'll post a link in the whole vehicle section. That s...

Re: Increased drive-ability and MPG

Okay, so essentially probably just best to let it ride how it is and just take things a little slower when on the highway. Thank you guys for the information, this site has been incredibly informative and useful while I’ve been working on my P’UP Where are you in NC, by the way? I'm in Winston Salem

Re: Increased drive-ability and MPG

It recall having a set of 15" rims with 235/70/15 tires and sold them to a NC member in Siler City for his Luv 4x4. Those 4x4 have 4.11 diffs. Before I sold them, I tried them on the back of my 2wd pup w 5 speed. I did okay. The speedometer was incorrect. When I ran them on the front, they rubb...

Re: Increased drive-ability and MPG

The 3.42 rear end and 4 speed is the most economical setup available. My son had a luv diesel with a 5speed. The rear end had issues so we found a 3.42 rear end and swapped it out. It lowered the rpm at hwy speeds, yes. However it didn't have quite enough torque to maintain speed at the lower rpm. W...

Met up with a_gunslinger this afternoon

This afternoon I had the privilege to meet Todd, his wife & mother. Todd had asked me to take a look at his late grandfather's 1986 pup gasser 1.9. The truck is in great shape and needs to be cleaned up a bit. A few minor maintenance issues like belts, fluids, new tires. The body is rust free. J...

Pulling it in a tow dolly will be fine. No OBD1 or 2 on that truck

Re: Anyone near Winston-Salem? Need to decide on this free Pup

I'm in Winston. If you decide not to take it, I'd be very interested in it. Send me a PM. I'd try my best to see if i can check it out for ya. I don't have as much experience with gassers as I do with diesels.
