late intro :) hi.

hi all. as I said love this site and this truck. we have a 1994 red gas 2.3l inline 4, 2 barrel carb, regular cab, original engine,(1 timing belt broke at 350000mi so replaced the cylinder head), the last year before fuel injection. my wife bought it new in Nevada. got us here to the Midwest. with all our stuff tied to the 6 foot bed.. great truck. drove to lake Tahoe, pyramid lake, sparks,to the northwest with it. was kinda crammed, us 2 sleeping in the front seat in the shadow of mount shasta/rainer? and those casinos in Oregon. yes we put 42000 mi in reno, then I put the other 400000 miles as a daily driver around topeka , Omaha, st louis, etc. had all that salt snow out west, so replaced back of frame with a 93 we found in Concordia Kansas. have all the records. has had 1 water pump and second timing belt bout 3 years 60000 mi ago, 3 alternators, 3 batteries, 3 radiators,3 starters, lifetime l/r front brake caliper replacements/pads, a number of belts, hoses. replaced rear brake and clutch cables twice. hit a little deer near st jo, saw this black flash from right and
BAM! bent the hood, at 3 am driving to a job, replaced grill and bumper later. sucker just missed radiator, so made it to work that day. that's why we have a new hood for that restoration that may be in jeopardy now. no pictures at this time; maybe later, oh and thanks to you all, solved that melted air diverter valve. it was the by pass connecting valve to engine. it rusted out ,letting hot exhaust do its nasty melting thing, after 25 years on the road. and finally was driving to the grocery market and sped in front of a lady coming out of the parking lot (not smart). she did not see me so her kia tapped my left rear of the bed denting it. I was her "deer" he he. and of course that was the pretty side of the vehicle. the right front kissed a guard rail 15 years ago when going too fast in dodgy conditions with some of the white cold stuff and darn clear dark frozen water on the road, pounded out that fender. whew. anyway that's our intro, glad to be a part of this, and hope there are still some ideas/ solutions out there. best; flei
