Welcome to the site! Overseas, that truck boasted the Isuzu badge.

If you're not already there, you should also join the LUVTruck.com forum. They are really partial to 1st Gen LUVs. Quite a few of our members are also active there.

Welcome to the site! Luv it. We had one member here that dropped a 2.2 diesel automatic into an 80 LUV.

Thanks guys, I joined luvtruck as well. I bought the truck because I wanted a 4x4 with a 4 cylinder I and a standard trans. I'm not super interested in putting a diesel in it.. nor a sbc... yet. I joined this forum looking for some ignition parts, but sadly the motor decided to give up lol. I found no compression on #3 cylinder. Did a leak down and its going into the oil pan! No good... I'm having some trouble locating a motor. But I'm working on it. I haven't torn it apart yet. I'll have some time next week.

Got her in the shop

Thank you sir!

The bad news is that I suck at diagnosing engine problems.... the good news is that i found a trashed head gasket! So all will be well. Kinda lame that I pulled the motor to replace a head gasket, but it happens lol. Now is a good time to seal that leaking timing cover that drove me nuts! At least pulling this motor isn't bad.. there not much to it lol.
