Interchangeable oil cooler? C223

Postby kanniedood22 » Thu Sep 12, 2019 2:54 am

Hi everyone!

After a long search & wait my new oil cooler arrived, but it turned out to be a little different than expected. I googled a bit and it seems to be an oil cooler for the 4JB1 engine. Anyone know if it will work on my C223? The one black pipe on the top will have to be modified, but it seems like it could work. I don't currently have access to a loose oil cooler assembly, so I can't tell. A rough outside measurement shows it should bolt on perfectly. The important thing here for me is replacing the top steel part which is pretty rusted (but working) on mine. Maybe the new top part can screw into the stock bottom assembly?

That looks like it just might be interchangeable.

The halves are held together by a large nut. Something like 24mm torqued to around 50ft lbs.
