223 in front of a GM auto? 700r4

Postby Crawley » Fri Aug 30, 2019 5:03 pm

My question here is is there a way or has anyone put the diesel 223 in front of a GM automatic and say like an S 10 I currently have a Diesel s10 with the T5 would like to swap the engine into my other S 10 and leave it auto. I know that the Chevy luc use the diesel in front of automatics.

Hello John, hope all is well with you. I just ran across your post, I don't get on the forum as often. Thought, wow that S10 looks really familiar, ha. Glad to see your still into the projects, I'm still driving my S10 in good weather as a daily driver. I found a box of Isuzu 2.2 diesel parts that need identified and was looking for info on here regarding them. Good luck on the project, Clair

You wouldn’t happen to have a couple extra S 10 diesel water pumps would you?

Sadly no, understand they are unavailable. No sure if you can rebuild existing ones or not, guess I better start investigating.

I can't believe that truck is still holding together as rusted up as it was. I have no doubt the engine and drive train is still going.
