Led headlights

This is for "general" electrical discussions. Audio, security, remote start, and power accessories should go here, since they don't seem to fit anywhere else. Not for diesel-specific (like glow systems), or gasoline-specific (like ignition systems) topics.

My 3rd brake light high on my topper, my strip brake lights above my bumper but below tailgate aren't dot approved. My acrylic led isuzu emblem and new night rider led strip behind front grill definitely aren't dot approved, but I think some safety and fun are provided.
So I'm just gonna run them. No night rider lights while driving (like the tv show with kit the car) but I do turn them on in a parking lot at night. Maybe those crazy drivers that fly at an angle threw parking lots won't hit me. Thieves might think I have a high tech security system. Mostly they are fun.

By the way, I flip-flopped and went ahead and bought the "projector" style LED lights from this vendor. My expectations were low, but these managed to negatively surpass them. ;) I already have them boxed up and ready to return. I'll post a separate topic about these.

I bought some of these a while back and they are an improvement over the old sealed beams. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M09C4 ... asin_title
I had to adjust them down to keep them out of oncoming drivers eyes.

I had to adjust them down to keep them out of oncoming drivers eyes.

Thank you! I drive at night and my eyes are so tired & weary from being blinded by all the LED headlights, high beams left on, light bars, fog lights on cars, pickups AND big trucks.

Well, all to soon my led low beam failed. So please don't by from the link above. Unless you are buying just for the housing (it is ok) ,but leds failed fast. So back to research a good led headlight bulb.

My recent experience has convinced me that quality LED retrofits are not yet available at a price point that makes sense. I'll keep waiting.

If I do anything, it will be a good glass housing that uses modern halogen bulbs.

Here's the headlights I used on my 82 pup. Bright, wide beams. I saved the boxes and the old lights for spares.
