Rim Help

Postby Stevo » Sat Jan 26, 2019 3:28 pm

Hello, I have a 1981 Chevy Luv 4x4 Diesel and I am in need of 4 matching rims 14 inch 6 lug, a friend gave me what I think is Mazda and they will not work the bolt pattern is the same but the offset is like 6 inches and I think I need 4 inches, I can't find any new anywhere and used ones are a long ways away and expensive any ideas? Are the 2wd and 4wd rims the same size? Are all the hub holes the same? I found some steel ones a in a junk yard on the other side of the state but they are not the white spoked ones and the guy said they were off of a 2wd. Do the 4wd and 2wd trucks have the same offset? I had no idea finding rims was going to be this hard I should have waited on buying tires. Thanks

Thanks the 2wd rim lug pattern and hub hole are the same as the 4wd but the backspace or offset not sure of the correct terminology is not the same I may try 1.5 inch wheel spacers if I can't find 4wd rims.

The 4x4 and 2wd off set are a little bit different. I can't remember the exact amount. I believe the 4wd rims are set a little bit differently. I can't think if it is more positive or negative. The FSM shows 2wd as 5j-14 and 4wd as 51/2JJ-14....

I've seen some trooper rims on 4x4 pups. They're 15" i think but will probably clear things okay.
