1995 2.3l fi questions

Postby black95 » Wed Oct 04, 2017 5:20 pm

I bought the truck it ran great now I'm having some issues. It's a 1995 pick up 2.3l fi 5 speed has 136k on it...cold start issue is the truck starts right up and idles fine for about 5 minutes then acts like it is running out of fuel. Sometimes it starts right back and does the same thing other times it won't start right back maybe 5 minutes and it will.... once the truck reaches normal temp on the gauge it runs like a top. Another thing I'm concerned about is I get roughly 12.5 mpg if my math is correct. 14 gallon tank goes 170-190 miles. All of this is combined driving city and highway. The numbers haven't changed drastically since I've owned the truck

Here is a list of parts I've replaced since February 2017

Fuel filter
Fuel pump
Fuel sending unit
Fuel pressure regulator
Battery
O2 sensor
Mass air flow sensor
Map sensor
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor

I'm sure there is more but I can't remember

Idle Air control under the intake. its stuck shut. it acts like a fast idle and choke on FI motors. once the truck is warmed up, that part would be shut anyway. common part to freeze up. shoot some PB BLaster down that thick tube on the passenger side of the motor that goes under the intake. it MIGHT free it up
if i build it, it will scrape......or catch on fire
