95 passport with a c223, bolted to a gasser mua5. Garrett gt1749, 15 psi of boost. Straighpiped and intercooled. 2.5” suspension lift and 1.5” body lift, ball joint flip, 1 1/2” diff drop. 33x12.5 R15 tires, 12000 pound winch.

Yes. I know some after market kits came with liners. There are a few people with liners in their motors

Ok so bad news... the engine failed at 27k miles.... it just seized and I feel like a rod bearing just decided to spinnnn.... :(

What were the conditions when it let go? In 4x4 low range?

It was highway driving, I still don’t know what happened, I took really good care of it after the rebuild, did oil changes in time, never over revved, used quality oil and never overheated, maybe the mechanic left something wrong inside of it, I’ll get it towed home on Saturday and I will tear the engine down on Sunday, this time I’ll be making all of the work, I hope it can still be fixed.

The number 4 rod bearing spun, I don’t have enough money for a rebuild, the crankshaft doesn’t look too bad so I’ll just polish it, polish the rod and the rod cap and throw new bearings at it, if I can get 20-30k out of the engine, I’ll be happy.

Hi,

I think you should first find out what is causing that condition.

Sure you can polish it and back together but you may be doing this again and again.

Also what about the other rod bearings? How are they looking?

Looks like you have a misalignment, oil starvation or lugging condition.

I would polish and check dimensions and clearances with a good caliper and a final check with one of those plastigauge to make sure you have the right clearance.

I meant a MICROMETER, not a caliper. Sorry for posting the wrong word.

Yes, use a MICROMETER when you done polishing to check dimensions and you will know for sure where you at.

And then I will do the plastiguage step after.
