No Gauges

This is for "general" electrical discussions. Audio, security, remote start, and power accessories should go here, since they don't seem to fit anywhere else. Not for diesel-specific (like glow systems), or gasoline-specific (like ignition systems) topics.

No Gauges

Postby bonez30884 » Thu Jul 30, 2020 11:44 pm

I have a 1990 Isuzu Pickup, 2.3L 5 Speed. My temp gauge and fuel gauge are not working. Not sure what the problem could be. Just got a new fuel pump installed and still nothing. Any help would be awesome

Probably something in the dash instrument cluster. I'm not too familiar with this model trucks. And check all fuses. Clean em up even if they are good

Cleaned all the fuses. Still nothing. I'm thinking it might be the wiring because most of the time only half of my dash lights stay on. Sometimes they shut off completely

Ok. Now we also have issues with dash lights. Not just the 2 gauges. My hunch is a bad ground for the dash cluster. Not sure there's a ground point under the dash or not.

Have you installed a radio in the truck recently? Or anything else electrical?

I just took a look at my Pup wiring diagram and it shows that the grounds for the instrument cluster are all derived from the ground bolt on the passenger side front fender. The pickup is possibly the same.

I haven't installed a radio but the guy that originally had it had a big sound system in it. I was told when the person I bout it from got it. The original owner room out the radio and all the speakers but left all the wiring
