Just bought an 81 2x4 longbed. Fairly straight, some rust (not bad) runs great. I'll change some filters this weekend. It's showing 203K miles but drives fairly well.
Also have an 05 Duramax that I am putting way too many miles on. Getting into Biodiesel. Started my 4th full batch tonight.

Thanks in advance for the questions I am about to ask.

It's not quite as clean as it looks from a distance. However, it appears 100% stock. It has been painted. It used to be Coca-Cola red. It belonged to a Coke distributorship in the Seattle area. All in all not in bad shape though.

Different shot. This is when it's still in Seattle.

Just finished a full week of driving. I topped it off last Friday morning and topped it off again yesterday morning. Same station, Same pump. Even had about the same amount of dribble. 13.2 gallons. (petro diesel)

The odometer doesn't work so my figures are based on google maps.

My drive to work is 34 miles each way. I live in the mountains. I have 3 good climbs each way and sometimes I pull a small landscape trailer. Longest climb is 2 miles of 6% grade. Highest is to 5,700 feet.

34x6x2=408 (regular work week)
13x2=26 (Day off running in to town and back for errands and biodiesel supplies)
408+26=434 miles
434/13.2= 32.8 miles per gallon :lol:
13.2/7=1.89 gallon/day :D

I used to use close to 4 gallons per day in the Duramax.

But I have to admit, I love the Duramax! Wish it had a little bro that we could get over here in the U.S.

You know, so do I. I haven't driven the Dmax since I got the Pup home. I drove it today because right after work I'm heading back up to Seattle to pick up the 85 pup. It was strange climbing into the Dmax. It felt real big. Then a funny thing. I mashed down on the skinny pedal and took off. I had forgotten in 2 weeks what POWER was. Big difference.

Yet, i like the idea of only using less than a gollon of fuel to get to work. :D

If anyone wants a great little diesel pup please consider the 81. I really want it to go to someone that will appreciate it. Either someone here or on biodiesel.infopop. I would keep it but the little Mrs. says no way.
