My jet fuel Powered Pup

Postby poprivetj1 » Sat Feb 01, 2014 8:17 pm

I took a few Road trips this week in my 85 diesel longbed 2wd.
I have never been to a diesel pump since I bought it in November.
So I have been mixing 2 cycle oil and Diesel Klean fuel additive
With about 5 gallons of Jet A that I have to dump on a daily basis.
On Wednesday I completed a 200 mile round trip. Today I completed
a 385 mile round trip. My average MPG was 44.34 empty load.
I love this truck.

I've been told that jet fuel is similar to kerosene. Is that correct?

It is similar to k-1 or Diesel 1.
It does not have as much lubricating properties as Diesel 2
So that's why I add one ounce of 2 cycle oil and 1/2 ounce
Of the Diesel Klean additive per gallon of Jet A.

I have been doing that trio for awhile in my mercedes 300D
Without problem.

The jet fuel is tripple filtered out of the fuel nozzle,
But the bottom of the fuel pump tank sump sample, filter
Housing sump sample, and aircraft fuel tank sample
are not so I run those through a screen.
I also manage two fuel farms daily, so between daily
fuel quality checks, fuel deliveries, Milipore, and water
testing, I have more than enough high quality alternative
Fuel for my two Diesels. And to think I used to give this
away every three weeks.

I'd like to think that I am reusing the waste by product of quality control for safe EMS helicopter transport. Or alternative fuel lottery.... Potatoe/ potato.....
