2.3L High output alternator?

This is for "general" electrical discussions. Audio, security, remote start, and power accessories should go here, since they don't seem to fit anywhere else. Not for diesel-specific (like glow systems), or gasoline-specific (like ignition systems) topics.

2.3L High output alternator?

Postby mja » Mon Jan 02, 2017 2:55 pm

Is there a high output alternator available for the 2.3 Isuzu? The stock ones look like 50-60 amps. I'm interested in something around 120-160 amps, should work well for a heavy duty power inverter for tools. Called a couple places and no luck yet.

Update - powerbastards alternators sells a 160A alternator for the 2.3L 4DZ1, with 1 year warranty. It's not on their website. I was quoted 385$, will buy one in February.

Update 2 - I bought a powerbastards 220 amp fitzall. Bolts in with no modification, need to jump the voltage regulator connector circuit to kill the dash lights coming on + blower motor issue.
