Good news on the new alternator after a major pain too put it in, Everything work's perfect now and as soon as I started it up the dash light's went out and the fan started working and no oil leak's on the lines. The great thing about the alternator is that it came with a NEW vac pump already on it and everything you need to hook it up you'll have too change a few thing's off your old one but that will be a no brainer on what to do. The part # is 14648 and the manufactor is Ultima Import and I got it from O'Rielly's just under 130.00 after core charge. I haven't drove it any to see if there will any problem's but I don't expect any, I've been fighting this problem for some time now and I hope this has finally cured that.

That is good news. I bought one from Orielly's a few months ago and it didn't come with an oil pump on it. I had to use the old one. It does have a lifetime guarantee. I had to grind a hole thru my fan shroud to get the long bolt out thru the front to remove the alt. On another pup I have here it had 2 bolts one screws in the front side and one from the back side. Other than making the hole in the shroud I would have had to remove it and that meant removing the fan clutch also. It was easier to grind the hole with a die grinder and a rotary bit. then pull the bolt out. and I won't have a problem next time.

Ron, I took my snips and cut two slits into the shroud and bent the tab out of the way to remove the bolt. When I put the bolt back in, I bent the tab back over flush w/ the shroud like it was.
