gauges by shifter

Post by bthood »

Hey guys,
I found a gauge set the goes by the shifter for my truck. It voltage, clock, and oil. This came from a gas engine. Mine is a diesel. Can I use these on a diesel? if so, how do I wire this? I got the complete harness that clips into another harness under the dash.

There is an oil pressure sender that Ts off of where the pressure switch is.

As to how the voltmeter and clock are wired in I'd have to look.
It's not pronounced "Ih-soo-zoo", it's pronounced "It-screws-you"

I did the same think in my 1986 Space cab. I looked at the wiring diagrams in my manual and found a white\translucent 8 pin connecter under the dash just to the right of the steering column. The connector has 7 wires in\out. I also had a lone single wire in the engine bay that I traced back to this connector. The wire colors at this connector were also the same at the connector at the console gauges. I matched the wires and the volt meter and clock work. I am still trying to figure out my oil pressure though. I think I bought the wrong sensor. I hope this helps.
