Steering upgrade

Postby Lord Les » Mon Aug 29, 2016 1:56 am

I like my light, power steering, but I think it takes to many 360's on the steering to max the turn. I think there is a compatible Chevy steering THING that cuts those revolutions down. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Steering quickener sounds like what I need. Love it when I find what I'm looking for after I post a question. I'm guessing that any steering quickener will work fine? And that there is no reason to go with a different solution?

I didn't think anyone owning a diesel pup would ever be in a hurry for anything.

My 82 didn't have power steering, so I needed the geared down steering. With power steering that quickener would be pretty neat. https://m.summitracing.com/search/part- ... quickeners

Did you end up using the steering quickener? Seems like you'd have to fab up a sturdy bracket for these things.

Although I wish my truck had lower geared power steering, thatd be nice. Manual box isnt fun. Anyone know how many turns the power boxes are lock to lock?

You do realize you're not driving the same truck, right? Their answer won't apply.

Hi Jack, just curious and making friendly convo. I'm sure it'd give me an idea of the average lock to lock on many of these trucks.

So did you get the 1.5 or the 2.0?

I did neither. I just stuck with what I had.
