The pivot ball is between the arm and the release bearing. On "pull" setups, it's on the opposite side As far as I know, it's the way they did all their hydraulically operated clutches, I'd guess it's to allow for best placement of the slave cylinder.

If you install the 2.3 MSG tranny make sure you (1) use the 2.3 clutch & flywheel, or (2) use the 2.6 engine plate (or two 2.3 engine plates stacked) if you use the 2.6 clutch & flywheel. The 2.6 clutch & flywheel is larger & thicker than the 2.3 setup, the larger clutch will contact the MSG bellhousing unless the tranny is spaced backwards a bit using the thicker engine plate(s). You also need to use the 2.3 throwout/clutch release bearing and clutch arm and the clutch cable housing needs to be secured to a bracket as in the picture. Even though your engine is a 2.3 this stock clutch cable bracket may have been removed.
A quick tell on which clutch you have: 2.3 disc is 8.5", 2.6 disc is 9.5" in diameter.

Ok guys I’m here working on the truck with a buddy of mine... with the 2.6 trans out we are seeing this with the flex plate. The last pic is of the factory clutch on the 2.3 motor. The one that’s attract to the motor in my truck now looks like the second pic. Which one is supposed to be used? The first 2 pics are different in thickness.

Then both are for the 2.3, it should be fine.

The question is, which engine plate do you have? Since you're using a 2.3 engine and 2.3 transmission, you should be using the 2.3 engine plate. So I'd compare it with the one on the bad engine, to be sure.

It’s fixed! It’s was the trans/ clutch cable, you guys are the best. Thanks for all the help!

Adjust the cable until you have about 1" of freeplay at the pedal before you feel resistance when pushing with your fingers. Re-check after driving for a week or so & the parts have a chance to bed in.
Make sure the trans lube is motor oil, not gear lube.

I sure will. When adding the trans fluid it’s through the side and till it starts to drip out? 5-30 right?

That will be fine. Viscosity is dependent upon ambient temperature, in very hot or cold climates use something a bit thicker or thinner, just like you would in an engine. In fact if you use the same oil as the engine then you only have to buy one type.

Given the shared photo one can assume your buddy and previous owner of said isuzu was also not a mechanic. Fortunately you've come to the right place. Congratulations!
