E-Stop Kill Switch

Postby JMBoyle » Fri Oct 12, 2018 3:07 pm

Hey, I have an '84 S-10 Diesel I want to use a log splitter. I'd like to hook up an emergency kill device, but I'm not sure how to do it. The splitter came with a kit, but it is for gas powered engines. does anyone know if there's a wire I can cut that will stop the engine?
Thanks.

The 4JB-1 diesel in my pickup has a theft-deterrent switch that hooks into a fuel cutoff solenoid on the diesel injector pump. Works perfectly to stop the engine.
Perhaps you injector pump has similar?

Firstly, as said, the fuel shut off solenoid on the back of the injection pump is the only thing electrical that will shut your diesel off. Secondly, if you still have the transmission that was on your s10 with a c223 diesel, I'd like to buy it :-)
