msd ignition box and coil

Postby wesharris » Tue Aug 05, 2014 8:23 pm

I'm new to this site and from what I see .it looks like a lot of you guys have the older trucks with the carburetor .
I have a performance mod that some of you guys might like .
I acquired an msd ignition box and coil new in the box from a friend that gave me an awesome deal .I have a 90' model trooper with a 2.6 5 speed. everything stock except a cone air filter and a 2 1/4" exhaust .
before I put the ignition system on my trooper ran fine it had a small miss wasn't really a miss more of a putt .
After I put the ignition in it idles so much smoother I had to re adjust the idle and the putt is all but gone ( could be caused by a small exhaust leak) but it runs soooo much better I'm not sure it gave it more power but it rev's up quicker and runs smoother down the road even the coil helped I put that in about a week before the box it help a lot so if your having any issues with power or fuel economy or running rough Che k out an aftermarket ignition system
1990 Isuzu trooper 2.6 5,speed new clutch new head and gasket msd 6al ignition blaster ll coil accell wires water pump rebuilt alt. rebuilt starter new belts & hoses deleted emissions
