2.3l TBI swap?

Postby 91isuzukidd » Sat Sep 30, 2017 5:31 pm

Wondering if anyone has don't a TBI (throttle body injection) swap on a 2.3l. My engine raves to about 3000 rpms at idle I replaced all the vacuum lines and still does it. My dad thinks a TBI swap would be fairly simple, I just figured I would check if anyone else has done it and likes it or not.

Don't you mean toilet bowl injection?
It's not pronounced "Ih-soo-zoo", it's pronounced "It-screws-you"

I don't remember what year it was, but the 2.3 was actually offered with injection for a year or maybe two. I pulled a transmission from (I think) and Amigo XS that had an injected 2.3. However, I think the consensus here is that it's easier to get the carb'ed engine running right than the injected version. We have some members who are really knowledgeable about that subject--but I'm not one of them. :(

Imho, it would probably be better to just do the Weber carb upgrade and forget the EFI idea
Currently P'up-less, but keeping my eyes open for a good deal

Th reason why I was thinking about going Chevy tbi is because my cousin did it in a weekend on his jeep and the hardest part was converting it to an in tank fuel pump
