My s10 with 223 diesel has 278,000 and I drove it a year with the speedometer not working. It still uses no oil. The only thing ever done to the engine was to replace the injectors. Phil

241,000 on the odometer but the odometer sticks whenever the last three digits are 999. So I have to open it up and coax the "thousands place" digit over manually.. and sometimes it goes a while before I get a chance to do that, so... It really has much more than what it says.

My pup just started doing the same thing at 107,500. When I notice a big roll coming up on the odometer I smack the dash above it and it usually keeps on spinning. I think its actually behaving better after the light abuse.

Bought the 81 and it showed 172K. Drove it for a while then the odo got stuck. I'm pretty sure it had been sticking for a while before I noticed it because when I towed it home, it showed 172,999.9. Any way, drove it for a while till it showed 202K. Parked it for a winter. Pulled the cluster after reading the how to for sticky odometers. Figured what the heck so I reset it to ZERO for fun. It now reads 33K, so it has to have at least 234K. I'd say much more as it was a delivery truck, but I don't know for sure.

Runs good, but smokes a bit at startup.

Who on the site has the highest mileage on their pup?

Postby BigBenLewis » Fri Mar 14, 2014 2:54 pm

Who on the site has the highest mileage on their pup? How they running with all those miles?

I went for a long run the other day, about 200 miles, ran good down the hwy at 60mph. I discovered that 5 pretty much maintains speed on flat ground and top speed is about 70mph with a stiff breeze at my back. I thought not bad for 355000 miles:)

FYI, I merged three different threads into one, because the same question keeps coming up.
