S-10 Glow plug problem solved

Postby S-10 luv'r » Fri Dec 21, 2018 10:11 am

I finally can say that my glow plug problem for the S-10 was the main relays. after some trouble shooting. I found no voltage getting to the glow plugs from either of the glow plug systems. I replaced both relays and finally got glow plug voltage from both systems. I tried starting the engine and it did start without having to use any ether (for the first time in a long time). the link following is a seller on ebay that sells relays with terminal lugs just like the ones used on the Chey S-10. they are not an exact matching relay but they work. it is what I used on my S-10. they do come from Hong Kong not the USA. 4 to 8 weeks shipping time. the link:

I recommend all S-10 owners replace both of the relays. GM just didn't use fantastic relays on the S-10. copy and paste the link into your browser. relays will appear without you having to search for them.

for anyone wanting to buy the auction is titled: Relays 200A 12V DC Car Automotive ON/OFF Switch Car Boat Box Battery 200Amp

they are relatively inexpensive compared to ones at the automotive stores.

the following is what they look like:
