Rebuild time

Postby robgt22 » Thu Jul 09, 2015 8:38 pm

OK so I checked compressions on my c223 and it's time for a rebuild :( :( Also there is a lot of sludge inside the engine, which probably was before I bought it. I'll keep you updated and post some photos when the rebuild starts

Hope you'll tell us more about that. Ronster had one done, and I think his mechanic had quite a hard time getting the sleeves in correctly.

Well, the sleeve part was the only thing that my mechanic didn't make. I took the block to an engine rebuild company just to get the sleeves in, as it was the hardest part.

Looks great! Curious, do you know how many miles were on the motor before the rebuild?

The engine had around 325,000 miles, but previous owner didn't take good care of it. Had it running without air filter for a long time, until I got it

Just installed the engine. Everything that's missing is adjusting valves and adding oil. Will fire her today. :D :D

Thanks! I installed them, adjusted valves and added oil but couldn't start it. The oil line that goes into the vacuum pump gave up :/.
