Re: biggest exhaust before its overkill?

Boise Outlaw, I love the Avatar, by the way! thanks man! heres how the exhaust turned out i found some 2" at the scrap yard for $3. I think these used to be tent poles. http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/6131/p6020002.jpg I used a small section of the downpipe, then cut individual se...

Re: water pump removal without dumping fluid

ha i never even knew that til i just read up on it, its weird that antifreeze would be ideal at a 50-60% mixture with distilled water, but at more or less have weaker results. You'd think the higher the concentration the better the results. Never too worried about overheating... I run a 3 core radia...

Re: biggest exhaust before its overkill?

its an 82, the manifold choke point is definitely a killer. I'll run a 2" for now, maybe later on i'll play with the idea of hacking it up and running a split exhaust.

biggest exhaust before its overkill?

looking to upgrade the exhaust on my build next (its only the downpipe running out the left wheel well at the moment). I know for diesels bigger exhaust = less backpressure = more power, but how big should I plan on going? I've seen some 4" in 4" out free flow diesel mufflers on the web, b...

Re: water pump removal without dumping fluid

that is actually an excellent idea. You could replace the freeze plug with one of those expandable plugs and a small funnel taped directly underneath with a longer hose running to a bucket under your rig. Loosen the bolt on the plug til it contracts, let her trickle down through the funnel and into ...

water pump removal without dumping fluid

anybody have a trick to doing this? once the radiator is drained there is still about a gallon of antifreeze in the engine that turns into a gallon of antifreeze dumped all over the shop floor once you pull the water pump

Oh also, can someone give me the oil capacities for the engine and transmission? Is it 6 quarts for the engine and 3 pints for the tranny?

Re: diesel swapper in boise, ID

i actually have a samurai I swapped a 1.6L 16v into as well. It did fly until i put a 6.5 T case in it, now it just climbs :D... Ended up i had a leak in the rear output of the tranny, drained it of oil when i was climbing one day and burnt up the stock samurai transmission, so now i'm not sure if i...

Re: diesel swapper in boise, ID

I pulled everything that plugged into the harness pretty much so i know i have everthing important. My vacuum setup was all there, but alot of the lines had been disconnected. I'll ...
