Re: Exhaust pipe

Hey Stefan, glad you got your exhaust pipe problem fixed with a whole new system. Like I said when the factory system gives you trouble it's highly recommended to just get a whole new system installed that flows better then the stock 1 5/8" diameter pipe. And that gives me even more reason to m...

Re: New owner

Hey, nice truck and good work on it so far. We have the same exact truck except it's a 1981 instead of 1982 Mikado. I mean ours has the same exact color interior, exterior, and body decals yours has. Wow, it's like seeing an exact copy and is pretty cool I have to admit. Great job on the frame as I ...

Re: Exhaust pipe

all i have now is pipe that ends at the tranny and shes loud as crap!!! Hey Charles, I just about had the same thing happen to my factory exhaust on my LUV about two years ago except it broke a little higher up. I remember I had just left my friend's house to head home (about a 25 mile drive) and t...

Re: My Isuzu's

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I like the roof rack on the 89 Trooper and do you know where you happened to buy that? Also, what did you do to lift the front suspension on the same Trooper? Just turn the torsion bars up or anything else in addition to that? Thanks and appreciate your reply.

Re: Weather stripping kits????

Hey Charlie, sorry I didn't reply back sooner. Haven't been on the forum in about a week, but yes I do need both the front windshield and rear window chrome trim. This is mainly for when I go to put another cab on the LUV frame. While I'm at it I might as well put in brand new rubber window gaskets ...

Re: Foreign Pup ad

I love the 4 door version as well. Ain't fair! I also agree the 4 door model is an awesome feature to the all familar body style. Hey guys, if you think about it you could import one of those trucks if you could find one still running around in decent shape in that country it sold in. The rules for...

Re: Old Pup New Owner

Jeez, it seems that the PUPs resemble more like the Troopers down under. All our 1st GEN Troopers (84-91 model years) over here in the U.S. have the 4.555:1 low ratio gearing, while the PUPs have the 4.10:1 ratio no matter if gas or diesel. The only two exceptions to the Trooper is if you got a 1987...

Re: Weather stripping kits????

Hey Mark, thanks for your reply and that is some great news. I'm figuring that Isuzu probably can still get these rubber window gaskets with the chrome trim new if you happen to try to order them. I would think they would come with the chrome trim, whether it be already installed or formed into the ...

Any update on the availability of the windshield and rear window weatherstrip gaskets including the chrome trim in the rubber? Thanks.

Re: new here

Wow, only 12,000 original miles? Let me be the first one to say you'll never need to buy another truck again since you've bought that Isuzu PUP. Being that they are bombproof to begin with the need for a new truck will never arise, haha. Welcome to the forum and glad to have you here.

Re: Redneck Isuzu Pup....

Wow, that is a great feature article for an Isuzu PUP diesel! That truck looks great and I'm sure is a head turner with the 6" stacks. Something else I tell ya and I've heard about Diesel Tech magazine, but haven't seen one in person. I am a subscriber to Diesel Power and it's kinda getting old...

Re: Rebuit motor smokes blue...sometimes

Hi cwill, usually when you have blue exhaust smoke exiting the tailpipe it means you are "burning oil" (meaning it's getting burnt like the fuel being injected into the cylinder). I'm thinking oil is getting past the piston rings in your engine and that could be the reason you are seeing t...

Re: little tricks for better mileage or torque

I am also looking into a 2.25" straight pipe for exhaust is that a waste? Hey Britt, I would go with a 2.5" diameter exhaust with an aero-turbine muffler to really wake that engine up. Since you are turbocharged it doesn't hurt to go that 1/4" larger in pipe diameter. I'm sure the tr...

Re: Weather stripping kits????

Did the PUPs ever come with chrome trim option on the cab? Chrome trim windshield weather strip, chrome trim rear window weather strip, and chrome trim running above the doors on I think what's called a drip rail? From the factory my 82 LUV came with the chrome trim and I was hoping all the parts ar...

Re: Hello

Hi Stefan, and welcome to the forum. It's crazy but I happen to work in Lancaster and probably am not far from you where I work. I live in Glenville though, which is about 45 miles away from Lancaster. Great to see you've chosen a diesel PUP as your first vehicle. I did the same thing, have never re...
