Re: Lost Brake Boost

This isn't what I expected to find when I first started working on it.5D784EA2-1AF1-4137-8D97-BD4C8AAFE795.jpegIt spun freely on the shaft. Fortunately, the shaft still looks pretty good, and I had a spare pump. Jack Wow... Never expected to see anything like that... Never heard of one of those vac...

Re: Oil line to the alternator

FWIW, I had a great experience with Trausch Dynamics, aka hydraulicstore.com, when getting custom lines made for my BMW's self-leveling suspension. The rep I spoke to knew his stuff, and their selection of hose material is large enough that I'd bet they have something that'll handle any temperature...

Re: Oil line to the alternator

Just a heads up some hydraulic shops won't do it since engine oil runs write a bit hotter than hydraulic oil

Re: Diesel piston specs

According to what I've read is gapless rings aren't great for daily drivers. Apparently they don't hold up as long. Performance gains would not be noticeable for us.... If they were so great they'd be using them all the time in everything.

Re: AC mounting bracket, not properly attached.

That's what I'm wondering about, is leaving it as is the lower risk situation? Cracking head bolts loose seems like asking for trouble from an engine that has none. It seems pretty secure, but it's just annoying to see things done wrong like this. It'd probably be low risk if I found another proper...

Spotted a clean one in Auburn

I had stopped at a Mc D's for lunch on my way to Enumclaw for work and happened to go down a little side road to get to a stop light to make a left turn and saw this little gem! I didn't get out and take a peak as I was a little tight on time. I'll drive buy it again soon enough and leave a note. Fr...

Wow, I just noticed this and want to say how much I appreciate your time and effort Jack. Running website can be a daunting and often thankless project. I know I'd be lost without it when it comes to figuring things out with my crazy turbo diesel pup. As an aside, your pup, the red and silver LS lo...

Re: NA c2323 and TD c223 differences

Piston oil squirter regulating valve opens at a different pressure on the turbo engines. Stays open down to 30PSI I think... NA Is higher... Injection timing is slightly retarded compared to NA. Injector POP is set at a higher pressure of 1900 PSI vs 1400 Rods are different. Piston pins are differen...
